Please buy from the ticket-seller in your own department if possible, o-O0=0 TEEN TOWN The Terrace Bay Teen Town Club posted an important milestone in their history with the opening of their new Club Rooms on Friday, February 3rd. The occasion was marked by a social event attended by the parents of the members, at which addresses were delivered by Mr. D, C. Porter and Rev, A. F. Lavender. Mr, Ed, Cavanaugh, President of the Senior Council, led off the dedication ceremony by a short speech in which he expressed the thanks of the Teen Town Club and the parents, to the Longlac Pulp and Paper Company for providing the new Club Rooms, Mr, Cavanaugh also asked that all parents co-operate with the Senior Council in furthering the ideals of good comradeship and citizenship towards the younger citizens of this Town. "This can be done," he said "by you parents making a habit of coming to this hall on Friday and Saturday even- ings to meet your children at play," Mr. George DeLong, Jr. President of the Junior Council, replied and expressed thé thanks of all Teen-agers to the Community and to the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company, Mr, DeLong stated that a fine opportunity has been placed before the Teen Town Club to enable them to become worthy residents of a good Town, Mr. D. C. Porter, Mill Manager, was the next speaker, He congratulated the past and present Teen Town Councils for their fine efforts. "The Longlac Pulp and Paper Company," Mr, Porter said, "feels that it has a duty to fulfill towards the people of Terrace Bay by doing everything possible to build a better Community in which to live. Teen Town is a credit to all of us, because it develops leadership and teaches the knack of how to get along with one another, and I congratulate the Teen Town Club and wish it continued pros- perity." Rev. Mr, Lavender expressed his thanks for the Opportunity to speak and also con- gratulated all those who, in any way, were responsible for this achievement, The remainder of the evening was taken up with dancing, followed by a delightful luncheon interval. The major highlight of the evening's fun was the Mother and Son and Father and Daughter Dance, For this dance, the Teen Towners asked their respective parénts to dance and it was most heart-warming to note the prideful smiles of the many parents, Some of the parents were later heard to remark that dancing had speeded up considerably since their younger days. 0-0-0 PES WEE LEAGUE The "Stars of Tomorrow" are really burning up the ice lanes at the school rink these days. The League is made up of three teams, Canadiens, Maple' Leafs and Black Hawks, playing every Tuesday and Thursday at the School Rink at 4:00 pam, The Canadiens are currently leading the league with two wins to their credit, with the Leafs in 2nd place with one victory and the Black Hawks in the cellar. These games are well worth while watching, come on out and see the "Future Big Leaguers" in action, Better still, how about a couple of hclpiag'hands to teach these young fellows some of the finer points of the game. We can use about 4 or 5 more fellows who are really interested in helping out these youngsters.
