BETTY "CUNNINGH HEADS BADMINTON CLUB FOR 149 - '50 SEASON Last Wednesday evening, fol~ lowing regular badminton games, members of the Badminton Club held a business meeting during which Betty Cunninghan was elected President of the organization for the forthcoming season, During the first two years of very successful operation C. E. "Monty" Paget had been the President and he declined to act for another term, In addition to Betty Cunningham, other members eleeted to the Executive were: Vicee President, Lorne Peck; Secretary-Treasurer, Wynn Marshall; Executive Members - Mart Brown and Frank Madden, For the balance of the calendar year, John Jeanneret will continues o act on the Community Recreation Committee as Badminton Club representative. Following careful consideration of anticipated operational costs, the fee for mem= bership in the Badminton Club was set at $3.00 for the '49 = '50 season. Every badminton player or person interested in learning to. play the game is urged to be at the Recreation Hall any Wednesday evening throughout the season. Membership fees are due now and may be paid to the Secretary-Treasurer, Wynn Marshall, Let's make the coming badminton season the best to date}l} o-0~0 COMMUNITY PARTY PLANNED ON COMPLETION OF 100 SAFE DAYS A management decision has just ' been reached whereby a Gala Com= munity Party will be wiawed by LongLac Pulp and Paper Company on completion of 100 safe days worked without an on-duty disabling lost-time accident, As we go to press we are com= pleting 60 safe days and with just 40 more to go the objective can be attained by November 20th, Details of the party will be worked out by the Accident Prevention Committee but in the meantime everyone is urged to keep up the good work, "Safety is Everybody's Business" and by .working safely as individuals the 100=day objective can be obtained. o=0-0 GODIN@RAMSAY WEDDING Holy Angels Church in Schreiber was the setting on October 5th at 8 am, for the marriage of Edna Monica, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, David Godin of Schreiber and George Ramsay, son of Mr, and Mrs. Arthur Ramsay of Newcastle, N, B. The ceremony was solemnized by the Rev. J.C. McHugh; the organist was Mrs. Frank Duggan, and the bride's sister, Mrs. M. Je MeGrath the soloist. Ushers were Robert Godin, a brother, and C. Hales of Terrace Bay. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast for 50 guests was given in the Mayfair Hotel where Mrs. Godin received in a navy ensemble with harmonizing accessories and a red rose corsage. ' Mr. and Mrs. Ramsay left by train to spend their honeymoon in Montreal and Newcastle, N. B., and will make their home in Terrace Bay. Before her marriage Miss Godin, who is a Registered Nurse, was employed for the past two years in the Terrace Bay Hospital. _ Among the friends present from out of town were Mrs. Jack Minor of Marathon, Miss Cecile Noonan, Miss Colleen Stokes, Miss Mary Letain, Miss Ruth Thompson, Mr and pee We .
