Well, it seems that a lot of people are bent and determined to have themselves a rip-snortin! good time = or what they think is a good time - keeping up with this mad whirl in their cars, You've seen plenty of them, and you'll see plenty moro.¢n most high- waySe 'We don't want to set up blue laws against excitement and recreation and pleasure travel. They wouldn't work anyhow. We already have speed laws and other traffic regula~ tions that don't seem to mean much to some motorists. But it would help a lot ifmmore people could be convinced that they can drive slower and still enjoy driving - and that they can get where they're going just about as soon - and more surely --staying under safe limits as they can by driving 10 m.p.h. over those limits. It isn't just the lame-brain darcdevils and the speed demons who have the acci- dents, In too many cases it's the average motorist who stepped it up a little too much for the roadfcy weather conditions, for the amount of traffic, or for his own driving ability. What's this got to do with you? Well, let's assume that you're a conscientious, safe worker, But think a minute. How about your off-the-job driving? How about when you stow away your work and worries in the back of your head and take to the road for some pleasure driving in your shiny new cruiser or faithful old family jalopy? Are you still conscientious and careful, determined to keep yourself and your family safe so you can have a lot more fun?
