BORSUM HURLS TERRACE BAY TO VICTORY OVER SCHREIBER In a hardball game played at Schreiber last night (June 15th) Bill Borsum hurled the Terrace Bay team to a 15-5 victory over Schreiber in a seven inning contest. The game was close for the first five innings with Terrace Bay leading 4=5, but the local boys broke loose with a barrage of hits in the sixth inning to sew up the ball game. Johnny Schritt played an excellent game behind the plate for Terrace Baye This was Terrace Bay's first victory over Schreiber in 3 starts and the boys are now hopeful that the practices which they have had recently have really put them in good form and they hope to arrange games with other teams in the near future. 0-0-0 DOMINION DAY CELEBRATION PLANS EXPANDING During the past week a considerable amount of organization work has been done by the committee in charge of the Dominion Day Celebrations. During the afternoon of July 1st from 1:50 to 3:30 p.m. there will be a number of events, including races for boys and girls.from six to sixtcen years of age, as well as races for adults. Featured also will be an Inter-departnent and Community Services Tug-O-War, and entries for this event are to be in the hands of Ed Brady (Local 1) not later than June 25th. Prizes for the the Tug-O-War have been donated by the Hudson's Bay Company. At approximately 3:30 pem. a softball game will be played with the teams play= ing to be announced later. A prize for the winning team has been donated by Terrace Groceteria, At 7:30 p.m. in the evening at the local ball field there will be boxing matches with cash prizes going to the winners, From 10:30 p.m. to 1:00 asm. there will be a free dance at the Recreation Hall with recorded music supplied from the record collection of Don Whitley, Throughout the day, at the Curling Rink, refreshnents will be available and numerous games will be set up, In charge of the refreshments will be Ed Brady, Wally Pletzer, John Jeanneret, Jock lacCall, lionty Paget and Harry Ganja will be in charge of various games, Ed Cavanaugh will supervise the races and Tug-O-lTar. Bill Borsum is organizing the ball geme and Bill Delmage, boxing matches. Present at the committee meeting which made many of the above plans were Hubert Boudreau, repre- senting St,ilartins icn's Club,Frank uadden,representing the Canadien Legion,LaVergne Welker representing the Local Union, also John Jecnnerct end Bd Brady. The Union, Logion end St, hertins :.cn's Club arc sponsoring the celubrations 2nc tho entire community is urzed to participate. o=0-0 MOOSE VISITS TOWNSITZ Numerous municipalities have reported recently that animals of various sorts have been seen within their environs and not to be outdone Terrace Bay is proud to report that one evening last week a full grown moose wandered through the Townsite. According to reports some enterprising citizons attempted to take photographs of Mr, Moose and if anyone met with success in their picture taking, the editor of this paper would like to see the pictures with a view to having them published in the Kimberly-Clark Corporation magazine, "Cooperation", 0-0-0 ST. MARTIN'S CATHOLIC GUILD The regular monthly mecting of the St, Martin's Ladies! Catholic Guild was héld at the home of Mrs, E. Cavanaugh, who conducted the mecting in the ebsence'of lirs, R.
