No. 23 LARGEST CIRCULATION IN TERRACE BAY June 9, 1949 SS eee eee ee eee OMENION DAY CELEBRATION PLANNED July 1st this year should be a memorable one for Terrace Bay, A monster Dominion Day celebration is being planned, sponsored by the Terrace Bay Branch of the Canadian Legion, St. Martin's Men's Club, and Local 665 of the International Brotherhood of Pulp, Sulphite and Paper Mill Workers. While plans at the moment are just in the poh stage, races, games and refreshments are scheduled for the local ball park and a free dance = "couples only" - will be held in the evening at the Recreation Hall, All 'residents of the community are not only welcome but urged to keep Friday, July lst open for this event, At the present time a three-man committee consisting of Hugh Boudreau, represent ing the St. Martin's Men's Club, Frank Madden, representing the Legion and LaVergne Walker representing the Local Union, are heading up a committee making the plans, and sub»committees which will be placed in charge of the various activities and events will be developed at a meeting to be held on Friday evening, June 10th, at the home of Hugh Boudreau. Further details regarding this celcbration will appear in this paper during the next three weeks, 0-0-0 HI TEEN TOWNERS!#$ Another gala evening of games and dancing will be held at the Legion Hall on Saturday evening, June 11, starting at 7:00 p.m. Remember the times: 7:00-9:30 p.m, for Junior Teens; 7:00-11 p.m. for Senior Tecns, Your Junior Executive wants everybody present at 7:00 p.m. sharp, at which time there will be a short meeting before the fun begins, Remember your club is just as strong as you the member makes it, So don't miss the meeting where you can tell us how you want your club run. Come early and forget your pre-exam blues for a night, We would also like to extend an invitetion to all parents of teen towners to drop around and see what!s Cookin, o-0=0 MILL VISITS FOR TOWNSITE RESIDENTS Arrangements are being made to conduct parties of townsite residents through the mill on Wednesdays and Fridays of each week for a limited period commencing June 15th, Residents of Terrace Bay who would like to see the mill are requested to make reservations in advance of their visit by contacting the Operating Personnel Man in the mill or phoning the Person- nel Office at Local 53, Those interested in going through the mili on a Wednesday should phone on Monday. Persons desiring to go through the mill on Friday should phone not later than Wednesday. Only children over twelve years of age will be permitted in the mill on these tours, 0-0-0 SPECIAL CANADIAN LEGION MEETING A special meeting of the Terrace Bay branch of the Canadian Legion will be held in the Legion Hall on Monday, June 20th at 7:45 p.m, All Legion members are urgently requested to attend. 0-0-0 MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS FOR PRE-KINDERGARTZN CHILDREN Terrace Bay parents of children who expect to attend kindergarten com- mencing with the fall term are requested to take their children to the Terrace Bay School on the morning of Friday, June 17th, for a pre=school medical examination which is required prior to children commencing school at Terrace Bay .
