Each course is conducted for a three-hour period daily, Monday through Friday, with the Afternoon Course operating from 2:00 p.m, to 5:00 p.m., and the Zvening Course from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m, The classes are being held in a room of the new Terrace Bay school which was made available for the purpose by the Terrace Bay School Board. Twelve full-size looms have been set up for the course which is being conducted by Miss Elizabeth Banigan of the Community Programs Branch of the Department of Education, Toronto, In the past, weaving courses such as these have involved a total of 8 hours particip- ation per day over the three week period, but due to numerous requests for shorter courses, an experiment is being conducted at Terrace Bay whereby it will be determined whether or not the short three-hour per day course will be satisfactory to all concerned, By the time the three-week course here is completed each of the sixteen ladies who are taking it will have learned to weave approximately 25 separate patterns, 0-0-0 HOCKEY NEWS As indiceted in the above Hockey Schedule Red Birds and Barons have two more games to play in the present schedule, These games were postponed from February 8th and 15th due to weather conditions, and coaches of both teams are urged to make every effort to have the games played as scheduled, in order that second and third play-off positions may be decided, Saturday evening, February 26th has been set aside for a sudden death game in the event that it is required. Before the play-offs between the three leading teams in the league are staged, coaches involved must turn in to the Sccretary-Treasurer, Eldon Marostica, their team linc-ups in duplicate, Deadline for turning in these line-ups is Thursday noon, February 24th, On receipt of the information, the league secretary will check with his membership roll, and will return one copy of each line-up to the respective coach, indiceting players, if any, who have not paid their {35,00 membership fee. No player will be permitted to compete in the play-offs unless he has complied with the membership rule regarding the fee, Play-off games will be staged between teams as follows, The second and third place finalists will compete in a two game--total goals to count series, for the right to meet the Tigers for the championship of the Terrace Bay House League and possession of the Northern Wood Preservers Trophy. Coaches of teams engaged in the play-offs are urged to make every effort to have their teams on the ice at the time schedul- ed for games, 0-0-0 TERRACE BAY FILMS TQ BE SHOWN THURSDAY NIGHT Some months ago, members of the National Film Board Staff spent a considerable amount of time in this area filming both the Hydro and Terrace Bey projects, The National Film Board has now released a short film "EYE WITNESS #10" which includes four or five minutes of the pictures which the Film Board took during their visit. This film will be screened publicly for the first time in Conada at our Recreation Meeting on Thursday evening. Don't miss it}
