Volume 4, No. 6 ' LARGEST CIRCULATION IN TERRACE BAY February 10,1949 ~ Quotes = ee SSS SS eee TEEN TOWN On October 30th, 1947, teen-agers of the Community, officially organized "Terrace Bay Teen Town," and since that time activities of the group have centred for the most part in the homes of its members. ea Now that the Old Hudson's Bay Store in the Lower Camp has been*freed up for use as a Community Hall, "Teen Town" members will have a place to meet regularly and the expansion of the organization to include an active adult sponsoring bedy becomes readily apparent, This does not in anyway relieve the teen-agers of the responsibility of planning programs and conducting the affairs of their "Teen Town", Members. of the elected executive will have duties to perform as in any other organization, It is customary, however, to have an adult executive or Senior Council assist in the development and operation of "Tcen Town" organizations, and in all probability this would be the best method to follow locally. An opportunity for everyone to express opinions is needed, however, before a formal Senior Council is developed, and for this reason, 2 general meeting of everyone interested will be held in the Community Hall on Monday, February 14th, at 7:50 p.m, "Teen Town!" members will, of course, want to be on hand, and parents of teen-agers should be partic- ularily interested in helping to formulate any course of action in such an important matter, There may be others, also, who have had past experience which would be valuable, they too are invited to be present as well as any who have a definite interest in assist- ing with such a worth-while project. By assuring the success of "Teen-Town" at Terrace Bay, we need nover be faced with a problem of juvenile delinquency. o-0-0 OFFICIAL OPENING OF TERRACE BAY SCHOOL SCHEDULED FOR MARCH SRD Thursday, March Srd has been set as the " date for the official opening of Terrace Bay's new shcool.
