Lumbers 0-0-0 ST MARTIN'S LADIES GUILD The St, Martin's Ladies' Guild held its first monthly meeting of . 1949 on Wednesday, January 19th at the home of Mrs. R. Faust. Mrs. R. Schneble, president, was in the chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read by liiss T, Paulmert, secretary, after which she gave a summary of meetings held during the past year. The treasurer Miss C. Maltese read her report. The opinion of the ladies was asked of four samples of material, one of which was chosen, This material will be purchased and made up into altar linens. It was requested that there be full attendance at the next meeting and all Catholic Ladies over 18 years of age are cordially inv'ed to attend. This meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. S. Neuville, 161 Birch Crescent on February 16th. Refreshments were served by the hostess, Mrs, Faust, assisted by Mrs. J. Wig. 0-0-0 BADMINTON In addition to meeting every Wednesday evening from 7:50 p.m, to 11:00 p.m., members of the Terrace Bay Badminton Club will now have the opportunity of playing every Sunday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 5:50 p.m, Three Badminton Courts are located in the Recreation Hall. Membership in the Club is $1.00 per season. Everyone interested in playing badminton is invited to join the Club at any time. 0-0-0 SAFETY IN WORK IS EVERYONE'S CONCERN We do not know of a safety program, no matter how extensive or how well carried out, that can be successful unless it has the cooperation of each and everyone on the job. The superintendent, the foreman, the office worker, the man at the machine, the safety committee, the mill manager--all share in safeguarding the well-being of ourselves and our fellow workers. General safety rules and safety procedures can be established but it is the {ndividual who has to carry them out. He must play safe at all times, from home to work and back again, and obey all safety rules, Advice doesn't have to come from the foreman or the safety man. It may come from a fellow employee who is interested in your welfare. By pulling together, let's make our mill a safer place in which to work. o-0--0
