Page 3, SOFTBALL CHATTER The first girl's practice ofthe season was held last Sunday afternoon eT with about twenty players on the field and dozens of male spectators on the sidelines. Girls softball at Terrace Bay is going to be very popular, particularly from the viewpoint of the side bencher. The girls will practice again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening in preparation for their big game on Sunday afternoon against the Old Timers Men's Team, A good turn-out is hoped for at the Friday night practice as players will be chosen soon for the girls house-league teams. 0: Oo ; The game scheduled for next Sunday afternoon between the All Star Girls Team and the Old Timers (men) should draw a large crowd, Play should get underway about 3:50 p. m. 000 Last Wednesday night (May 5) saw an exhibition game played between Fraser Brace Office and LongLac Engineering Office. It was really a "sizzler" with Fraser Brace gaining a 13-12 victory. Highlight. of the game was the 5th inning triple play made by Al Lindskoog and Don Brand of the LongLac team, lLongLac team members also included Jim Piette, Ed Larson, Jim Whyte, Pete Heintskill, Alec Alaspa, Dick Hupp, Frank Sechesky and Irv Lenz. Roster of the winning team was: Geo. Reid, Jerry Chow, Ted Cavanaugh, Carl Coulson, Arnold Ham- ilton, Peter Cameron, Bill Stock, Mike Kilbertus, Art Williams, Chris Cook and Jack Kayser. oOo In the Mens Division plans are progressing regarding the operation of a house league end various groups are busy practicing and lining up teams, The provisional committee met last Friday and it was decided et that time to defer the election of permanent officers for the year until May 14th when a general meeting will be held, No team entries will be accepted after the meeting on the 14th, as schedules will be drawn with the first game slated for May e4th. Each team entry must list players. Players cards will also be re- quired with a deadline of June 15th set for turning in these cards. Teams are limited to 15 signed players. , 00 0 TERRACE BAY VOTERS LIST Notices of preparation of a Voters list at Terrace Bay have BEING COMPILED MAY 1LOTH been posted and next Monday, May 10th, two enumerators L. D, Brunton and W. J. Linden will be on hand. All persons qualified to vote at the pending Provincial Election are called upon "to attend at the times and places herinunder mentioned for the purpose of having their names enrolled upon the Voters Lists to be used at the said elections". The enumerators will be on hand on the 10th between 6:00 psm. and 9:00 p.m. at the Recreation Centre in the Lower Camp and Dining Hall #5 in the Upper Camp. We have been advised by Judge A. H. Dowler, Chairman of the Election Board for the Electoral District of Port Arthur that under Section 119 of the Voters List Act, persons in the Improvement District of Terrace Bay must qualify as follows: (1) Be of the full age of 21 years before election day (June 7th). (2) Be a British Subject and. not disqualified from voting by law. (3) Be a resident of, or be domiciled in the electoral district. At the conclusion of games, the winners turned over their varicus prizes to guest of honour.
