' 0-0-0 WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT TERRACE BAY The Daily Times-Journal (Fort William, Ontario) April 5, 1948 "A Fine Contribution" "A short news story carried in Saturday's edition of the Daily Time-Journal affords a revealing insight into the growth and substance of a comparatively new municipality in Northwestern Ontario. We refer to the announcement that the residents of Terrace Bay had donated the sum of $1,875 to the Red Cross. Just a year ago, Terrace Bay was really just taking form. The pioneers of a new settlement have had only a few short' months to plot streets, erect new homes, to furnish these homes and to landscape grounds,' Yet in spite of all the expense and the necessity vo think about their own affairs, Terrace Bay people found the money and the time to think of others in a very handsome and practical way. Tosovescdll.eess.who helped to put over their local Red Cross campaign, goes well- deserved congratulations! 0-0-0 COMMUNITY GARDENS In our paper last week, it was noted that consideration is being given aoe the idea ofdveloping a Community Garden project within the community, A number of persons have returned the form which accompanied the article thereby indicating their interest in such a project. We feel certain that there are others who would like to "get in on" such an undertaking and have a garden at Terrace Bay during the coming summer, Such persons are urged to fill in the form appearing in last week's paper or advise the LongLac Personnel Office as soon as possible. 0-0-0 COMING.
