Page 3. OFFICE AND MECHANICS TIED (by Peter hiazza) IN HOUSE LEAGUE FINALS In the second game of the House League Hockey, best out of three finals held last Friday night at the Terrace Bay rink, the ilechanics suffered an unexpected disappointment in their endeavour to bring our local hockey season to a conclusion. In this fast and rushing game the Office Staff under their genial captain Murdo Campbell presented their best talent and outwitted the Mechanics with a decisive 4-1 win, leaving the series to stand at a game cach, Though the players of both teams were on the alert throughout the entire game, it was evident that the white collar boys produced their hidden style of better playing to warrant them the win. Their passes clicked well and in their checking this was attended to with close attention and great pain, The "FW-FE" (Fort William end Fort Eric) line of Campbell, Enstrom and Gow was outstanding and in compensation of their cxertive efforts the garnering of all goals was credited to this line. Gooderham at the nets eased many = breathless spell with his keen shuffles. The Office Staff's own B, & B. (Brady and Boudreau) the sixty minute defencemen - played their castern best to offset the mneny attacks of the Mechanics. Fast skating Johnny Parent and sensational goal tending by Johnny Falzetta were the great guns of the Mechanics in saving said team from ercatcr embarassment. Mechanics only goal scored by Mikus seemed to create an incentive to his mates, but their efforts did not materialize, "Teeter" Cavanaugh's many rushes to Gooderham's goal. were ably set back by Boudreau and Brady. In the last three minutes of play, the Mechanics in their ultimate hope of tying and Winning the game pulled out their custodian, Falzctta, sending out six men against Gooder ham..,.The whistle ending the game was a great relicf to the Cffice Staff, Officials handling the game in their best judgment were: H, Ganja and B, Roenspies, referees - timekeeper, P.
