Bert Allen and Grace Noer VSe Monty Paget and Irma Waara 9:30 p.m. Jerry Chow and Ellen Hodgkiss vs. Bert Allen and Grace Noer It should be noted by Badminton Club members that only one court will be used at a time for the Finals and therefore two courts will still be available for regular play. oO NORTH SHORE LEAGUE HOCKEY PLAYOFFS In a gruelling hockey game which saw only five goals scored, Terrace Bay was nosed out by their more experienced rivals in Schreiber last Tuesday night. The 5 - & score ended the first game in a best of 5 series now under way for the North Shore League championship. Due to uncertain ice conditions on the outdoor rink, it has been decided by the Hockey Association Executives that the balance of the playoff games in the North Shore League will be held in the indoor rink at Schreiber. Games between Terrace Bay and Schreiber are scheduled as follows at 8:30 p.m. on days indicated. Thursday - March 4th Monday - March 8th and if necessary on Wednesday - March 10th Saturday - March 13th HOUSE LEAGUE HOCKEY PLAYOFFS An unusual situation has developed in the Semi-Finals of the Terrace Bay House League. In the two final games between the Mechanics and Office Staff, the first game saw Office edge Mechanics by a 3-1 count. Wednesday night's game, however, was a different story with Mechanics turn- ing the tablesdecisively as they piled up a 7 - 2 victory over their rivals, fhe result is a three way deadlock as follows: Played Won Lost Points Fraser Brace 4 o & 4 Mechanics 4 S e 4 Office 4 2 2 4 Present plans call for one of the above teams to be given a bye to the finals with the other two teams phaying sudden-death. The two finalist will play a 2 out of 3 series for the House League Championship, 000 FIRST BULLDING AT TERRACE BAY Its just two years ago to-day (March 4, 1946) that a start STARTED TWO YEARS AGO TO-DAY was made on the first temporary building of this great Terrace Bay project. Under the supervision of our good friend Malcolm Spidell, a handful of men started to build what was then called the cookerye The name Terrace Bay, of course, was not in use, The area was known as Black Siding, a flagstop on the main transcontinental line of the C. P. R.
