EVERYONS, IS WELCOME. ip ditt TERRACE BAY MOVIES COMPLETE 1ST Yiak OF OPERATION For many people, moving pictures are a principal form of recreation. Realizing this, arrangements were made more than a year ago for regular movies at Terrace Bay. As soon as a building could be spared for recreational purposes, pictures were scheduled and on November 5th, 1946, just a year ago, the first movie was shown. The picture "Out of This World" drew a crowd of 151 persons to what is now the games room of the Recreation Centre. On the following Sunday,(November 10th, 1946) through the courtesy of the Thunder Bay Film Library and our good friend L.F. MacRae of the Fort William Public Library, educational films were shown to an audience of 160, Since that date, Mr. MacRae has selected 48 programs for us which have drawn 12,790 persons to the Recreation Hall on Sunday evenings and it is most encouraging to note that the average attendance for Sunday evening educational films exceeds the average attendane at regular movies. In addition to the 12,790 persons who have attended educational films, 32,094 paid admissions have been recorded for the 169 shows which have been held on week nights during the past year bringing the movie attendance during the first year of operation at Terrace Bay to a grand total of 44,884 for the 217 shows of all types. n=aO-- AT THE MOVIES All shows are held in the Terrace bay Recreation Hall et 8:00 p.it.
