Terrace Bay was mothing more than a heavily wooded 'area, A flagstop on the C.P.R. main line called Black, Ontario was located near our present railroad station, 18 Months Ago at Terrace Bay Diamond drill crews were engaged in probing soil conditions prior to selection of the actual Millsite, Two camp buildings were complete and work was progressing satisfactorily on the erection of 5 prefabricated buildings to be used as bunkhouses, mess halls, and an officc.. A stable was being erected also as horses were required to haul firewood and supplies from the railroad, 12 Months Ago at Terrace Bay In the Townsite, 75 house foundations were complete; 3] houses had been erected and the finishing carpentry work was completed in one house while George Aarnio's carpenter crew worked on the interior finishing of 5 other houses simultaneously. A water line was being installed down Highway 17 from the C P.R. tracks to the Townsite - and a temporary diesel power house was being finished, At the Millsite Steel had been erected for the Pulp Storage Building - concrete foundations were in for the recovery boiler and excavation work for the steam boiler was finished, Survey work had started on the Blackbird Creek drainage area, In the Lower Camp A boiler was being installed at the base of the water tower to prevent it from freezing---Additional bunkhouses were being constructed to take care of staff and crew expansion which for the first time exceeded the 400 mark, Bou
