Dear Sir or Madam:

My mother and father built the first grocery store in Terrace Bay in Sept - Oct 1947. Their names were Marjorie and Glen Lumbers. The enclosed pictures were glued into a family album so I'm sorry for the condition but thought they might be of interest. When I toured Terrace Bay after an absence of 43 years I was astounded at the changes. I noticed our house at 124 Poplar Cres. was torn down and replaced, however am including a picture or two of it's construction in 1947. The shopping area was extremely changed, and am also including pictures of its original construction.

Thank you for the invitation to the 1997 anniversary. My brother is a professional photographer and my pictures are few compared to his so I'm sure he would love to have the information - his address is Mr. Dick Lumbers, 214 William St., Belleville, Ont., K8N 3K2.

Yours truly, Sue (Lumbers) Extence
