Description
Photoraph of Canadian Pacific Railway Engine 3426. This was a Consolidation type, CPR class M40. It was built by Schenectady Locomotive works in Schenetady New York in October 1904. The Engine worked for the Quebec Central Railway as number 53 from August 1912 to September 1918. In the early years the Engine was used in freight service in the Nipigon and Heron Bay subdivisions.It was still in service when this photograph was taken. Engine 3426 was scrapped in 1959.
