The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Then is read the Epistle: 1 Tim. 2: 1-4; 1 Peter 2: 13-17. Then may be sung Te Deum Laudamus: " We praise Thee, O God." or an Anthem suitable to the occasion; or the congregation may sing the hymn: Now thank we all our God, With heart, and hands, and voices, Who wondrous things hath done, In whom His world rejoices, Who from our mother's arms, Hath blessed us on our way, With countless gifts of love, And still is ours to-day. 2 O may this bounteous God Through all our life be near us, With ever joyful hearts And blessed peace to cheer us, And keep us in His grace, And guide us when perplexed, And free us from all ills In this world and the next. 3 All praise and thanks to God The Father now be given, The Son, and Him who reigns With them in highest heaven, The one eternal God, Whom earth and heaven adore; For thus it was, is now, And shall be evermore. Amen. Then is read the Gospel: St. Matthew 8: 5-13 Here shall follow general prayers, according to the custom of the particular Church: Together with the Lord's Prayer. Then may the Offering be received. Then is sung: Judge Eternal, throned in splendour, Lord of lords and Kings of kings, With Thy living fire of judgement Purge this land of bitter things; Solace all its wide dominion With the healing of Thy wings. 2 Still the weary folk are pining For the hour that brings release, And the city's crowded clangour Cries aloud for sin to cease; And the homesteads and the woodlands Plead in silence for their peace. 3 Crow, O God, Thine own endeavour; Cleave our darkness with Thy sword, Feed the faint and hungry heathen With the richness of Thy word, Cleanse the body of this Empire Through the glory of the Lord. Amen. Here shall follow the Sermon. The Sermon being ended, the Minister shall offer the Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession (The People Standing): Minister - Lift up your hearts. People - We lift them up unto the Lord. Minster - Let us give thanks unto our Lord God. People - It is meet and right so to do.
