Mrs. Adelaide Sophia Hunter Hoodless Mrs. Hoodless was born February 27th, 1857 at St. George, Brant County,Ontario.She married John Hoodless in the Zion Church, Brantford,Ontario on September I5th 188I.They had four children.She formed the first Women's Institute organization on February I7th,I897 at Stoney Creek, Ontario. She died on February 26th,1910 while making a speech in Massey Hall, Toronto,Ontario.She was cited as a National Figure at the impressive unveiling of a plaque in her honour on June 2nd, 1962 by the National Historic Site Board at the Homestead Historic Site. The Homestead was made an Historic Site on June I3th,1959.
