PAGE TWO Mrs, Elinor 0'Connor the quantity of food that they consumed---this included the crew of the tug Whalen and it's rescue barge, eight large trout, 30 pounds of Roast beef , same of Roast pork besides a large ham--all one sitting, Elinor chuckled when she was telling this story. After her marriage to Earney, she always resided in Schreiber, She is noted for her culinary art. When a certain pastry was wanted Elinor was always ready to make it. Her husband never came home off his run on the railroad that she always was ready with a hot meal for him and some surprising pastry to finish off his meal and take in his lunch pail on the next run in his steam engine. They raised three daughters and two sons. Being always known for her cooking and baking ability, she would head food committees. She never refused a helping hand to neighbours and friends during illness and need. Her hobbies included needle and craft work and reading but baking she excelled in. On the spur of the moment she would drop whatever she was engaged in and out would come her cook books to look up something different to bake. Then off she would go to share her new recipe with some neighbour.
