Page 10 Meditorial By Rev. J. Paul September has come and not one moment too soon. Two months of summer holidays with demanding children tests mother's love, not to mention father's patience. Where would we be without the school system and their investment in our children's lives. There was a laughable article reported in the Janaury 13 edition of The Calgary Herald, which described how one school principal invests her life in the pursuit of discipline. Norma Taylor, principal of John Adams Junior High School in Charleston, W. Va., keeps her eye on misbehaving students in a unique manner-a camera's blinking eye. She strolls among the students at dances, athletic events, and class breaks, photographing them smoking, petting, or loitering in off-limits places. Later, when the film has been processed, she calls the guilty parties to her office and confronts them with the evidence. The article goes on to say that students have begged to purchase their pictures, but Principal Taylor won't sell. One might call this the Candid Camera method of discipline. : Did you know that God also keeps an exact record of every sin ungod- ly sinners commit. Hebrews 4:13 states that "He knows about everyone, everywhere. Everything about us is bare and wide open to the all-seeing eyes of our living God; nothing can.be hidden from him to whom we must explain all that we have done" (Living Bible). If we could grasp this truth that the ever present God not only is watching our actions, but.is also recording them for the day of judgment, we would live radically different lives. How we fool ourselves into thinking that God is an absent landlord who cannot see us, nor hear us, nor judge us. Along with this truth that God is an All-Seeing God, one must affirm the truth that God is also a Merciful God. Psalms 103:12 declares con- cerning those who have submitted their lives to the Creator that "as far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us."' As soon as we lay our broken lives at Jesus' feet the record of our dirty past is destroyed. One moment of confession and our relation- ship with God turns from one of guilt to one of grace. Did you know that the Great Creator is taking candid photographs of you every mo- ment. I wonder what the pictures reveal? Castor Valley Baptist Church Minister-- Rev. God Goes Back To School Castor Valley Baptist Church, a new church formed by the amalgamation of the Kenmore Baptist Church and Russell Bap- tist Church, has begun worship services in the Russell Public School. During Ontario's pioneer days it was not unusual to see a congregation holding divine ser- vices in a school building. In the case of the Castor Valley Baptist Church history has repeated itself and on September 2 the congregation converted the school's auditorium into a place of worship. Actually the Russell Public School will be used quite exten- sively each Sunday morning. Following the Family Worship Service which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., there is a half hour of fellowship Family Bible School from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00. Evening services will be held in various homes of those in the congrega- tion and in the Kenmore church. Renting the' Russell Public School is a welcomed opportunity for the Castor Valley Baptist Church in that a large percentage of the congregation live in the Russell, Forest Park, Vars, Limoges, Casselman area. As of the end of August, the old Russell Church building was sold and a building fund was established, with a view to buying land and erecting a new building. An aspiration of this new church is that it would be a friendly and warm church where people of the community could come and wor- ship God.
