Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mr. and Mrs. Russell Phair will celebrate their 46th Anniver- sary on election day. They were married June 9, 1931 by Rev. Donald Munroe who now resides in Kingston. They had _ four children: (Dorothea) Mrs. Robert Emond of Mississaga, Ont. She teaches Special Education at Clarkson, Ont.; (Eleanor) Mrs. Victor Provost lives in Russell, works in Ottawa for the Public Service Alliance. Donald who lives' in Cornwall and works for Gordon's Refrigeration Co. Wendall, who was killed in a car accident in 1970. Russell started out as a barber. He then added to his business and became a_ hair dresser. He was trustee of the Village of Russell, Past Pres. of Russell Lions Club, Fire Chief of the Village of Russell and Deputy Fire Marshall. He received his medal for 30 years of Fire Services. He was in a car accident in 1960 and had both legs broken. He was laid up for a year. He held classes on_ safety training of guns, sold gun licenses and is still Commission- er of affidavits. He had to retire on account of his poor legs. He works with Wednesday night Sr. Citizens of Metcalfe of crafts as a carpenter's helper. He makes string art, covers chairs, repairs old furniture and many other things. In his spare time he works on a stamp collection.
