evie EDITORIAL September 24, 1975 We're growing up, just as sure as kids steal cookies. Why, just this month we opened up the best and finest community centre for miles around. Now we're putting numbers on our houses. Any day of the week you can see three or four houses under construction. More subdivisions are planned. This fall, they say, town sewers are coming in, Like it or not, Russell's little village days are over. 'Now, Tittle villages have become big towns before. It seems to affect each one a different way. How it affects us is our affair - we can control it. Do we want to retain our identity? Is our community spirit worth saving? Can our organizations handle a larger population? Are we prepared for big, big, big? Don't look here for the answer. Look to yourself. This town will be what it is now: the sum total of its citizens - you and I. Dog-gone it, Maude, we even got us a newspaper: What'll they do next? Editor, Russell Review. The Executive of the Russell Recreation Association wishes to thank all those who assisted in the Grand Opening of the Russell Arena and Community Hall.
