An Event in Canadian History It has now come to be universally realized that the making of Motion Pictures is one of the greatest industries in the world. Throughout the British Empire vast strides are being made in the production of films, and it was only to be expected that Canadian enterprise would bring about a vigorous and bold entrance into this great field of endeavor. Nations and countries are now largely represented in the world by the culture, and the solidity, both financial and artistic, that lie behind the products of their motion picture studios. In presenting the feature picture "Carry on Sergeant!" to the audiences of the world, Canada has in one stride, shown that a production of artistic merit, capable technique, and of universal appeal, can be made in the Dominion. The foundation stone has been laid for Canadian-made pictures, and we feel that in presenting this Souvenir Programme, all members of the first-night gala opening audience will have something in their memory and possession to remind them of a most auspicious occasion..... A "night" that can never happen again. CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL FILMS, LIMITED.
