Greely... by Susan Potter Its that time of year once again! Yes, Greely's Winter Carnival is fast approaching. Greely celebrated the 10th Winter Carnival last year which shows a lot of experience is back- ing up the 11th Winter Carnival. Traditionally it is held between the last weekend in January and the first weekend in February, January 29 -- February 7, _ although the Queen contest is held the evening of January 24th at 7:30 p.m. This year's Carnival will be of- ficially kicked off with a parade to be held on Saturday, January 30th starting at 10 a.m. After the parade, avid snowmobilers can compete 'in a Rally and later return to a hearty bean supper. Those not snowmobiling can stay and watch some exciting hockey provided by Atoms and Tykes, and then followed by an exciting game of broomball. Later in the evening "(8 p.m.) there is addi- tional entertainment for adults (19-over) -- Adults Fun Nite. The Community Centre is clos- ed in order to prepare for the Car- nival Dance, music is being pro- vided by Westburg Union. At 4p.m. everyone can sit down to a Pot Luck Supper. Following at 7 p.m. is the last big event of the Carnival, the Amateur Show. As you can imagine this is one carnival not to be missed by anyone. Hope to see you there.
