_ Who owns mile of muck? (SES Residents of Russell Village who want to get to the 417 have to literally drag their cars through a two-km. stretch of unpaved road on North Road which turns into.a '"'mile of muck" at this time of year. Residents have complained to Russell Reeve Gaston Patenaude. He said it has been "a pain in my head for many years."' Because the road belongs to Cumberland Township, according to Patenaude, Russell cannot do anything about it. He says: '"'I MATH WIZ On Friday, March 6th, Judy Griffin, a student at Osgoode Township as one of ten finalists completing the second half of the Carleton niversity Mathematics Competition. Each year, Carleton sponsors a competition for high school students which features a series of athematical problems. Judy is a grade 13 student at Osgoode, and fter this year she is looking forward toa career in architecture. Judy's arents are Mr. and Mrs. Peter Griffin of Metcalfe. have tried many times to talk to former reeve Henri Rocque, but he told us in effect to go home", said the reeve. Mr. Patenaude said the new reeve, Peter Clark, seems to be in favor of repairing the stretch of road. Both Mr. Patenaude and Mr. Clark will be meeting some time next week to try and resolve the problem. Proulx says the United Counties of Prescott and Russell own North Road.
