Less than two years ago the community he served for half a century turned out to thank him, Metcalfe's Dr. Carl Edward Lynn Morrow has quietly passed away. "Dr. Lynn'"' died March 16 in Ottawa Civic Hospital after being - stricken with a sudden, acute il- Iness the same day. He was 75 and treated patients the day before at his home office on the village's main street. Funeral services were held March 19 from Vice and Craig Funeral Home on Highway 31 to Metcalfe United Church. Rev. K. McKibbon presided and was assisted by Rev. Geoffrey Maissan. Interment was at Spr- inghill Cemetery on Highway 31. He is survived by his wife and nurse of 45 years, the former Myr- tle Stanley, son Bruce, of Nepean, daughter Carolyn, of Toronto, and grandchildren Tyler and Shannon Morrow and Kathy, Lynn, Heather and Kyle Brownell. Eulogies on his death were reminiscent of the accolades delivered on June 21, 1978, when 800 Metcalfe and area. residents crowded the village arena to return some of the good feeling he had been administering for five decades. "There was no endeavor in the community that he didn't consider valuable. That's the kind of man he was."' Among other things, Doctor Morrow was a charter member of the Metcalfe and District Lions Club. Dr. Frank Kinnaird, who has been practising in Russell for more than 40 years, remembered his colleague as congenial and a hard worker. "We often got together for chats and I always en- joyed meeting him both as a medical man and a friend." Dr. Morrow's passing ended a legacy of family. medical ad- ministration begun by his father, Dr. Calvin Morrow, who opened a practice in the village in 1892. Son joined father in 1930 after graduating from McGill arfd spen- ding two years in residency at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Mon- treal.
