CASTOR REVIEW Friday, September 15,1978 Page7 Neighbors "Cec" MacNabb -- Overseeing the Morewood post office is right up Cecil Mac- Nabb's alley; he likes meeting people and enjoys a discussion. As postmaster in the Winches- ter Township hamlet since Cen- tennial year, Cec has presided over many '"'bull" sessions while dispensing stamps and sorting mail. Almost everyone who stops in for business purposes, lingers awhile to exchange views with the affable postmaster on the latest local developments. The post office is located in an old building owned by Mr MacNabb at the hamlet's main intersection. Other parts of the building serve as storage and asa refinishing workshop for the thriving MacNabb antique busin- ess. Now Cecil spends much of his time away from the post office locating and buying antique furniture for resale. The busi- ness, started 12 years ago by Mrs. MacNabb, has made the couple well known among collectors in Eastern Ontario. Born in Metcalfe in 1916, Cec lived there for four years before moving to Ottawa, then Navan, and later South Indian which became Limoges. Married for 41 years, Cec and Evelyn have lived in Morewood since 1948. Cec has worked at a variety of jobs over the years including construction and farming, but his first love has always been the public forum. He served 18 years on Winchester Township council, 14 of them as Reeve, before being Lickin' stamps with a sharp tongue "T thrive on a good argument, but I never hold a grudge,'"' he says.
