Besides the President's report of 1976 activities, and the reading of financial statement, and proposed budget for 1977, the presentations of special guests took place. Bernardine Nooyan of Navan, the Russell County Dairy Prin- cess addressed the audience for a few moments. Special pres- entations were also made to two co-workers in agriculture who retired at the end of 1976. Mr. Felix G. Millette. who was agricultural representative in Russell county for 12 years, was presented, by Pierre Hurtubise, a $50.00 gift certificate towards the purchase of cheese at the local St. Albert Cheese Factory. Mr. Millette also received a certificate from the hands of Mr. Rodger Thompson, Associate Director, Extension Branch, Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food in recognition of his 28 years of devoted service to the Ministry. The certificate was signed by both the Ontario Minister and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food. Mr. Elphege Lefebvre of St. Eugene, who retired as_ the Board member for Russell, Prescott, Glengarry and Stor- mont, also received a gift of some cheese. Mr. Lefebvre had been the area member at the Ontario Milk Marketing Board since its inception in 1965. The Presentation was made by Mr. Jean Claude Dutriame _ of Orleans, who replaces" Mr. Lefebvre. Both Mrs. Millette and Mrs. Lefebvre received bouquets of roses from Mrs. Hurtubise. The guest speaker for the evening was Mr. Grant Smith, Vice-President and Member of the O.M.M.B. During the evening, the 12 members forming the Russell County Milk Committee were also elected. They are: Presid- ent: Donat Brunet, Casselman; Vice-President: Jean Jacques Proulx, Sarsfield; Secretary- Treasurer: Marcel Brisson, Em- brun. Directors from each Township: Cambridge: Albert Latour, St. Albert; Donat Brunet, Cassel- man; Gerard Lafleche, Cassel- man; Clarence: Pierre Saumure, Clarence Creek: Gaston Hupe, Clarence Creek: Denis Ethier, Bourget; Cumberland: Jean Jacques Proulx, Sarsfield; Tom VanMunsteren, Sarsfield; John Smits, Navan: Russell: Marcel Brisson, Embrun; Albert E. Menard, Embrun:; Hank Staal, Russell. The meeting ended with a lunch where cheese and milk were well represented. 1977 Eastern Ont. Games for Physically Disabled The 1977 E.0.G.P.D. will be held June 10, 11, 12, 1977 at Carleton University in Ottawa. Though many sport events, such as basketball, swimming, track and field, archery, weightlifting and table tennis are planned, the emphasis of these Games is on participation. Carleton University, the host- ing site, offers numerous advantages to the participant. Its picturesque surroundings, convenient location, clean and modern facilities and most of all, easy access to all areas will make the participant's stay a very enjoyable one. Inaddition, a variety of social, recreational and cultural activities will be included in the programme. Ici, a Rus- sell, le cercle a été& fondé en 1969. Aujourd'hui, le cercle compte plusieurs membres re- crutées parmi les canadiennes frangaises de Russell. Toute canadienne frangaise y est bienvenue. Nos activités se situent surtout dans le domaine de la culture, de l'artisanat et des relations sociales. Cette année le cercle a organisé par |'intermediaiare du Collége Algonquin un cours de decoration intérieure. Puis, en janvier nous avons entrepris la confection d'une courte pointe qui sera l'objet d'un tirage plus tard au profit du cercle. Ce mois-ci nous organisons, avec la _ collaboration des cercles de Crysler, Embrun et Marionville un gala artistique qui présentera les artistes amateurs canadiens-frangias de chaque village.
