Of- ficial opening at 11. a.m. Con- tinues until 4 p.m. Women's Institute Profile enhanced by Judi Hubbard Public relations training was the theme of the thirty-fourth annual Officers Conference of Federated Women's: Institutes of Ontario held May 4, 5, 6, 1982 at the University of Waterloo. Two delegates from Russell attended, Mrs. Marjorie Dugdale, North Russell Women's Institute and Mrs. Judi Hubbard, Russell Village Women's Institute. Emphasis was placed on the im- portance of promoting a good public image of the 'Women's In- stitute -- through interesting pro- grams, worthwhile projects -- and arousing the enthusiasm of our members. Five hundred and seventy-five delegates representing all parts of Ontario gained valuable informa- tion from study sessions and guest speakers. Greely elects by Elma Sutherland The annual meeting of Greely- Manotick Station Women's In- stitute was held at the home of Mrs. Don Johnston on 20th April, 1982. The officers for the 1982-1983 year are as follows: Past President -- Mrs. Don Johnston; President -- Mrs. Gerald Sutherland; Ist Vice Presi-. dent -- Mrs. Milton Payne; 2nd Vice President -- Mrs. Graham; Secretary -- Mrs. Harland Smiley; Treasurer -- Mrs. Herman Smiley; District Director -- Mrs. Don Johnston; Alternate -- Mrs. Allan Baird; Branch Directors -- Mrs. Vivian Gough; Mrs. Allan Baird; Mrs. Thomas Harper; and Public Rela- tions -- Mrs. Gerald Sutherland. Hamelin were hostesses for the May meeting of the Russell Village W.I. held at the Anglican Hall. The roll call, name the flower of the month of your birthday was answered by twenty-six members. A report from the District Ollie. ~Loral Home | Hardware Board Meeting was given by Mrs.. E. Hamelin. Plans were finalized for the District Annual Meeting to be held on May 20th in the United Church. Again it was decided to enter all the local fairs and the Ottawa Ex- hibition. Mrs. C. Bekkers gave the mot- to, 'Of all things you wear, your expression is the most important.' To conclude the meeting, a plant auction was enjoyed by all those present. Lunch was served by Miss E.~ Curry, Mrs. E. Hamelin and Mrs. K. Lake. Next meeting will be held on June Ist at the Senior Citizen's Apartments. Visitors welcome. N. Russell votes by Helen Boothe North Russell Women's In- stitute held its meeting at the home of Mrs. David Otto and Mrs. Jan MacGregor. The meeting ~ opened with singing the Institute Code and all repeated Mary Stewart Collect. : Roll .call was answered by 14 members-and dues were paid. In- teresting reports were submitted and the president thanked members for their co-operation. Voting delegates for the District Meeting were nominated. Elections for a complete slate of officers was conducted by past district president Mrs. Keith Dugdale.
