The Castor Review, April, 1982 7 Greely Grist Let's dress up, Greely, and other residents of Ottawa-Carleton, have the oppor- tunity to 'beautify' their proper- ties and, possibly, win an award for it. The Rural and Urban Beautification Program is now ac- cepting-entries in the "most im- proved" category of a competi- tion to be judged in late September, 1983. At that time, winners will be announced in four categories: Farmstead, rural home, urban home, National Capital Commission properties and Industrial/Commercial establishments. The "most improved" category, however, must be entered before May 1, 1982 so that properties may be judged during the same season in two con- secutive years. All entries received after May 1 will only be eligible for the Best Overall prize. All this is being sponsored by the Ontario Ploughmen's Associa- tion which will be holding its 67th Annual International Plowing Match in Ottawa-Carleton in News Bush trackers begin season By Carol Versteeg The North Russell Bush Trackers joined up for this year's spring club. The new 4-H Home- conomics project is "More Out- door Living". The club leaders are Mrs. Margaret Burton and Kathy Walsh. Acquiring basic outdoor skills; learning to organize and plan an outing are objectives of the pro- ject. Members will attempt to discover interesting ways to spend leisure time outdoors through kite flying, making animal tracks and leaf printing. Members will learn to identify and prepare wild edibles. Members will also study basic methods of drying common fruits. Striving to know more about themselves, and working together for mutual benefit and develop leadership qualities are two more objectives. The members will be making an outing, after planning and organizing and putting to use what they have learned.
