Miss Kenna Paul of Toronto spent Easter weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Paul. Mr. and Mrs. John Morrow of Alameda, Sask. were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Paul. Mr. James Prevost of Picker- ing, Ontario visited his parents, Jim and Marion Prevost, in Russell for Easter. Robert Wade, 1909 - 1982 A highly respected Russell resi-, dent, Robert Wade, died suddenly March 17th at the District Memorial Hospital, Winchester after a short illness. Born January 16th, 1905, son of the late John Wade and his wife, the late Maria Stearns, he lived all his life in the Russell area where he farmed until retirement. At Morewood, July 17th, 1929, he married Kathleen Forrester who survives. Also surviving are three daughters Jean (Mrs. Ivan Kinkade) of Ottawa; Evedon (Mrs. Bert McMahon) of Crysler; Betty (Mrs. Hugh Latimer) of Russell, two sons, Glen of Win- chester and David of Russell and one brother Ben of Winchester. A member of the United Church, the funeral service was conducted by his pastor, Rev. Kenneth McLaughlin, assisted by Rev. Leonard Woolfrey, a former pastor. Pallbearers, all grandsons were Gary Kinkade, Bill Kinkade, Tom McMahon, Larry McMahon, Bob Latimer and David Latimer. George Shepherd dies at 66 George Shepherd, a former Russell area resident, died sudden- ly in Boynton, Florida, March 31st in his 66th year. Born in Russell Township, eldest son of the late William Shepherd and his wife the late Jessie Fetterly, he spent his early years in the area later moving to Sudbury, where he was a foreman for Frood Stobie Mines for 28 years. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Alma Gregoire. He is survived by his wife the former Marjorie Watts of Florida, five children, Henry, Helena, (Mrs. Stan Legace) and Gail, (Mrs. Tom Holyman) all of Sud- bury, Bill of Oshawa and Neil of Toronto, two sisters Helena (Mrs. Fred Simmons) of Venise, Quebec, Ella (Mrs. Cecil McKen- dry) of Cornwall, three brothers, Roy of Mountain, Mervin of Sud- bury and Meredith of Pefferlaw and six grandchildren.
