"by Ian Darragh They say a man's home is his castle. Francois Lapointe has built a house in Embrun which looks very much like a miniature castle. It even has a tower, something Francois says he's always wanted. His house is on the north side of Notre Dame Road as you leave Embrun bound for Casselman. Mr. Lapointe says he obtained the plans for his house from a U.S. firm. It's energy efficient, with thick, well insulated walls, triple-glazed windows and a heat pump. The front door leads into the tower, which has a 17-foot ceiling. Three wings lead off from the tower; one contains a large double garage. Construction on the "chateau" started last May and was com- pleted ¢n December, when the La- pointes moved in. The house was built by Alpherie Brisson of Em- brun. Francois says his first project in the spring will be to landscape the spacious grounds around the house, which is well set back from the road. His mini-castle nab added a romantic touch to Embrun, a town which already boasts many unusual and distinctive homes. ex a Castor Valley Baptist Church tae no Meeting in the Kenmore Baptist Church 11:00 a.m. -- Family Worship Service A Nursery service is provided 10:00 a.m. -- Family Bible School 7 There's a Class for all ages 7:00 p.m. -- Evening Rey Mae inthe Kenmore Church Enterprises.
