After the gift exchange, a lovely lunch was served by the hostess, Mrs. Lila Smiley, Mrs. Grace Gough and Mrs. Pearl Baird. The meeting opened with the singing of the In- stitute Ode and all repeating Mary Stewart Collect. Russell Village gets reports In spite of bad weather, Mrs. Edith Phair and Mrs. Pat Warner hosted the meeting of the Russell Village Women's Institute held in pe United Church Hall January th. Mrs. Judi Hubbard reported on the 50th Anniversary of the Navan W.I. held in November at Navan, and Mrs. Mary Inglis reported on the board meeting held at Inker- man in December. It was also reported that a total of $435.55 had been collected for UNICEF ; Plans were discussed for a bake sale to be held on Saturday, February 6th at 10 a.m. in the lob- by of the Dr. Kinnaird Communi- ty Centre during the Russell Winter Carnival. Mrs. Sue Pascoe, Mrs. Judi Hubbard and Mrs. Mary Inglis were in charge of lunch. Junior Farmers, U.C.W., Tyo's Red .and White, Mrs. Leila Twiname and last, but not least, the adults and children of Russell who marched through the cor- ridors singing old familiar carols.
