Suzanne Schroeter Let's get together Having spent a winter coping with an almost two-year-old, I know that there is much to smile about. Wintering with one or more young children at home can be compared to a form of trench warfare - a deadlock at the best of times, punctuated by occasional outbursts from both sides. Spring has magical powers that brings out the best in all of us. It seems to be an ideal time to meet new people. There are many parents of young children who are interest- ed in meeting at the Russell Play- ground each week so _ that children can meet other children and parents can meet other parents. Mrs. Carley who, with the aid of many volunteer parents, organized much of the construct- ion of the playground) assures me the playground is ready for active children now. There are plans to add a fireman's pole, but this is subject to budget approval. In addition, picnic tables are handy for picnicking in the warmer weather. Let's plan to get together at the playground on Tuesday mornings so that our children can enjoy playing with others and we can enjoy meeting all the interesting people who live in this village. If your children are in school - come along, too! For new residents, the play- ground is on Castor Street next to the pool. See you on Tuesday!
