Douglas Cherry and Alexander Moffat were ordained as elders of the congregation of St. Andrew's and St. Paul's. The ceremony was conducted by the minister, Rev. L. S. Woolfrey: the right hand of fellowship was given the newly ordained by members of the session and retired elders. A special family celebration is planned for Christian Family Sunday, May 8, at 11:15 a.m: The service is under the direction of the Sunday School teachers assisted by _ their pupils, music by the Junior Choir. The sacrament of Holy Baptism will also be administer- ed on May 8th. Dates of Messenger meetings for the remainder of the season are May 15, 22 and 29. News The annual volleyball tourna- ment in Russell was a great success with seven boys teams and seven girls teams participat- ing. In the boys action, in the best of three series, Russell took St. Catherine's in two games, Berwick beat out Nationview in three games, Metcalfe also took three games to dispose ofl Plantagenet and Nationview beat St. Catherine's 2-1. In other action Berwick lost tc Russell in two games, and then Plantagenet dumped Berwick 2-1. so then Berwick was fininshed for the day. Plantagen- et and Pleasant Corners wor both their series in three games and Plantagenet beat Metcalfe 2-0 to send Metcalfe to the losers round. Russell bea' Pleasant Corners 2-0 anc Metcalfe also beat Pleasan' Corners 2-1. Russell anc Metcalfe then played in the fina and Russell won the boys championship by scores of 6-11, 11-5, and 11-6. Girls results saw Russell squeak out St. Catherine's 2-1, Pleasant Corners dumped out Berwick 2-0, Plantagenet beat Nationview 2-0, Metcalfe beat Russell 2-0, St. Catherine's played their last game against Russell and lost 2-0 and Berwick beat Nationview 2-0. Russell also beat Berwick 2-0, Pleasant Corners. dumped Plantagenet 2-1, Russell then beat Plantag- enet 2-1, P. C. took Metcalfe 2-0 and Russell came up big to beat Metcalfe 2-0 to meet P. C. in the final. Pleasant Corners won the championship by beating the defending champions by _ the scores of 12-10 and 11-6. Russell P. S.
