One could name a great many boys who played hockey for Russell : but at a risk of leaving some out I am just going to mention Edgar | Young, Tom Kinchen and Charlie Fader, who I believe are the only ones of that era living around Russell now. In 1950 another rink was built at a cost of $30,000.00 with debentures for 20 years. To give it a firm foundation, about fifty piles from 35 to 40 feet were driven down. They were driven down as far as they would go, then hammered seven times and when they wouldn't go any further that was called a refusal. They were then filled with concrete and capped.
