While a resident of Russell she made a large circle of friend who sincerely wish her well. Miss Florence Young, Reg.N. of Mount McGregor, N.Y., was pre- sented with a silver medal by the Metropolitan Life Assurance Co. Head Office, N.Y. for five years faithful nursing service. Miss Young is a daughter of 'Mrs. and the late John Young, of Russell. Her many friends congratulate her on her splendid achievement. Mr. Wm. Scott reports the sale of a number of pure bred cattle to American interests. In this con- nection Russell township is fast ap- proaching the stage where it is a bonanza for American interests searching for pure bred live stock. Surely the many 'sales of live stock this past winter must make our breeders of pure bred cattle aware of the importance of this industry as well as those |breeders who do not keep an up to the minute herd of pure bred cattle. One of [Russell's oldest ladies had a birthday party last week and it was to celebrate her 83rd birthday. This old, young lady is Mrs. Levi Fetterly who, despite her advanced age does her own housework, reads, sews, and in summer does a bit of worth-while gardening. The party was given by her son Mr. Allan "Fetterly and was Cecil MeKendry; a grand-daughter, Mrs. Wm. Shepherd, Mrs. Wm. Lone, Mr. and Mrs. [F. Hummel, of C"esterville, Mrs. D. Kinkade, Mrs. H.
