@ ENTERED INTO REST 'George E. and John H. Sully It is not often that we have te record the death of two members of the same family, but the family of George E. Sully, of Metcalfe, was doubly bereaved on Sunday "last, when the father was taken, and on Monday morning, just 23 hours later, the som passzd away. The son, John #H, who was about 25 years of age was taken ill first, with what was thought to be the flu, and was seriously ill. "The father. who was in his 67th year, was about for a few days, was then stricken, and owing to his advanced vears, the disease made rapid progress and be passed -awav on Sunday mcrning at 6.13. The son was prencunced as doing fairly well, but at 5.15 on "Monday morning, his heart failed, and he too !oined the silent major- 'jority. The double bereavement amounts to almost a tragedy, as it leaves aged mother withlno to take charge of affairs, the only surviving scn * wesiding iu Los Angeles. California 'He is now on his way home, with no kmowledge of the sad news which awaits him. Besides the widow and son there survive five daughters, cf whom Mrs. Hackett Cherry, Russell, is -one, The double funeral took place on Monday afternoon, and the sight was a most pathetic one, as the two bodies were conveyed to their 'ast resting place. Hard enough to be poor--still worse to be sick and poor. The lot of the consumptive is a spe« cially trying one. Only recently a family was discovered living in two small rooms over a store. At one time they had occupied a comfortable home but the father took sick and had to give up work. With the savings all gone, they were forced to sell the fur- niture to buy food. When the man was found to be a consumptive, this was the opportunity of the Muskoka Free Hospital to bring relief so that not only would the stricken husband ' have a winning chance for life, but more aesirable still, the wife and chil- fren should be removed from danger if contracting the disease. Under skil- ful guidance the home was cleaned up snd the family temporarily provided lor. It is now reported that the patient 8 doing well, with every chance of recovery. _ This is the great work carried on by the Muskoka Free Hospital which is row appealing for help.
