Seguin Township honours its volunteers

On May 30 Seguin Township held its volunteer appreciation night. They presented three awards to members of the community.
June Klose's name was forwarded by the Christie Seniors for the Lifetime Achievement Award and she was chosen by the selection task force to receive this honour. Other recipients were Jack Hepworth for Citizen of the Year - 2007; and Sarah Murray for Youth Volunteer of the Year. June had many members of her family and friends in the community with her to see her receive this well-deserved award.

Several members of Christie Seniors went to Niagara Falls with McKellar Seniors and we all had a good time. Many thanks from all of us to Mary Ann Beck, George Beck and Robert Walker for all their hard work in making this trip a success.

If they could have guaranteed us a win at the Casino, it would have been even more enjoyable. We had dinner at the Skyline Tower one evening and had a great view of both the American and Canadian Falls and as it was Memorial Day there was a great fireworks display on the Monday evening.
I am sorry I don't have the Bid Euchre results for April. I will catch up with them next month.

We hosted the U.S.C.O. Annual General Meeting and luncheon May 22 and had 80 people from the clubs in Zone 39 attending. The U.S.C.O. is getting ready for the Annual Meeting for all clubs in Ontario, which will take place in Burlington in August.Birthday wishes for June go to Shirley Douglas, Audrey Ernest, Ralph Hind, Ed Jackson, June Klose, Vic McKeown, and Eleanor Tyndall.
