CLARENCE EAKET | Trustee Appointed Delegate IRON BRIDGE — Clarence i Eaket, president of Northern Ontario Public school trustees association, was appointed a delegate to Ontario school trustees council for 1968. Mr. Eaket is also an executive member of the Ontario school trustees council, and a member of the committee on amalgamation of the seven trustee associations. This position covers the area from west of Fort William to the Quebec border, as far south as Sudbury, North Bay, Mattawa and Ottawa. Mr. Eaket grew up in the vicinity of Iron Bridge and is a graduate of North Bay Normal School. He taught school for 14 years, eight of which he was principal of the Iron Bridge Public School. In 1947 he retired from teaching to go into business and now has offices in Iron Bridge. Blind River, and Elliot Lake. The three offices are now consolidated in Iron Bridge. While Mr. Eaket had a successful business, he never lost touch with promoting education He helped the area boards get established in Iron Bridge, Algoma Mills and Spragge and was chairman of the board when the new school was built in Iron Bridge, several years ago. He is also chairman of Blind River district high school board since its formation in 1956. A great deal of credit goes to Mr. Eaket in getting the new addition to the Blind River district high school, as well as the high school in Elliot Lake. Mr. Eaket is married, has two sons and two daughters.
