JUNE 19, 2002 • THE NORTH SHORE SENTINEL • PAGE 7 HORE PEOPLE AND PLACES HERITAGE MEMORIES Mystery photo identity discovered From the many telephone, fax and e-mail responses we've had, we have assembled the following information about the mystery photograph, found by Mrs. Margaret Bailey in Little Rapids. We have compared all of the information received and believe the information and names to be accurate, but we stand to be corrected. The photograph was taken in 1951-52 at the SS 1 Gladstone and Bright school, located just west of the Village of Iron Bridge. It was a one room schoolhouse until 1941, when an addition^vas built, and the school finally closed in 1954. The photo was taken against the east side of the new classroom and the teacher was Mr. Leonard Allen, who now lives with his wife Irene in Sault Ste. Marie.
