Library Renovations Entails Big Expense Blind River Association !' —--—* BLIND RIVER— The heavy expense entailed in the the purchase and renovation of the library building has moved the Blind River Public Library Association to seek assistance through donations from townspeople. A meeting of the association in the newly renovated library heard reports from various committees | who revealed that there is still an amount owing for all these extensive repairs. Chairman H. H. Bell and secretary-treasurer Mrs. Harold Phillips were appointed to accept donations. The building used for a number of years for the library has recently been purchased by the association and moved across the road to a lot donated by the town. The attractive building of white cedar grain shingle siding, green-tone shingle roof and new modern windows has been insulated and a furnace has been installed. A room will be finished in the basement where a Children's Story Hour will be held. The librarian reported 60 student memberships taking advantage of the Tuesday afternoon opening of the library. The meeting also selected several new books to be purchased. Eight members of the association attended.
