The intent of this essay is to shares photos and information about the logging process "from forest to factory" and the lumber companies and mills that operated in the Thessalon area of Lake Huron's North Shore from the 1880s onward.

This is a brief history of some of the landmark buildings that were an integral part of the history of the Town of Thessalon in its early days. Long gone, some were lost to fire, some lost to age, some lost to what we like to call progress.
