Description
This is a black and white photo of the corner of Huron and Main (east side) after the fire in May, 1963. The fire destroyed the Town Hall, the Algoma Advocate Office, The Thessalon Police Station, and Davidson Real Estate.
Notes
This was the second significant fire in just over three months on the Main Street in 1963, on that side of the street. In addition to the loss of the buildings that burned, there was collateral damage to the theatre next door from smoke and water and the weight of the hoses on the roof supports.

A greater loss was the newspaper files and history that had spanned over 75 years that had been stored in the newspaper office.
