- Hatchery beginnings 1984. Assessing the structure inside the abandoned hydro electric plant which was built in 1922/1923 to provide power to the Town of Thessalon. The hatchery is located in a hollow below the community of Little Rapids on the Bridgeland River. This strip of land was previously the site of the Holcombe grist and saw mills.

- Algoma Fish and Recreation Assoc Ltd. was a non-profit organization whose mandate was "to enhance and promote the orderly use of our natural resources in the "District of Algoma".
