A glance back at the Sault of yesteryear 50 YEARS AGO - 1922
THE SAULT DAILY STAR M0N JAN. 10, 1972

An article from the Thessalon Advocate: "Our old fellow townsman, T. E. Williams, affectionately called 'Tom' by his intimates, is no longer a police magistrate. He is a 'free man' now, so to speak, and will have time to engage in other affairs which we know will prove much more renumerative in a financial way, and likely much more congenial. Mr. Williams has been a magistrate so long that it will take some time for people to realize that he is just 'folks' like the rest of us now. However, Tom's heart is in the right place, and he has battalions of friends in Algoma, which is a whole lot to say for a man who has been police magistrate for 17 years."
