Description
This is a black and white photo of the second Presbyterian church built in Thessalon. This church was called the Zion Presbyterian church at the time of this photograph.

The Church is now known as the Zion United Church. To the right of the church is a white two story framed house that was at one time used as the United Church manse.
Notes
This church was the first Methodist Church built in 1881, with the first Reverend being James McAllister. Due to lack of space the Presbyterians shared this Methodist Church. Their Reverend was D.H. McLennan.

In approximately 1917 after both the Methodists and the Presbyterians had both built large churches, local industry fell on hard times and the two congregations decided to worship together in the Presbyterian Church.
Inscriptions
A note affixed to the bottom of this photo reads: ""Presbyterian Church,Thessalon, Ontario. Second Presbyterian church built in Thessalon opened in the fall of 1910, It was called Zion Presbyterian Church."
