- This is a coloured photo of the second Methodist Church (right) and Zion United Church on Main Street. Both churches are red brick. The Methodist church has a stone foundation and is built up off the street partially on a rocky outcrop. A couple of groups of people can be seen on the sidewalk along the street.
- Notes
- A typed note accompanying this photo reads:
"First Presbyterian Church was opened in 1883 Named Zion of the Hill it became to small so a second one was built and opened in the fall of 1910. Corner stone laid by William Thomson.
In 1881 the Methodists built their first church on the corner of Genelle and Main Street. Second Methodist Church was built in 1900. Thessalon Union Public Library 1991. In 1915 the Methodists and Presbyterians became one church in Thessalon and became Zion United Church of Canada."
