- Description
- This is black and white photo of a river rapid scene. Two men in a long boat called a "pointer" are pictured going down the rapids. Two other men are seated on the closest shore witnessing the action. There are piles of logs on the banks of the river. These logs have likely been moved there by men from the local lumber camp.
- Notes
- Pointers were long v-bottomed boats with pointed bow and stern that were good for log driving on large rivers. These boats were often used to "sweep" logs from the banks of water bodies.
