- This is a colour photo of the smelter operation located on the water in Thessalon. A large off-white two story building dominates the middle of the photo, with a smaller red building in the foreground. A variety of other structures and materials fill the centre horizon.
- Notes
- A test run of ore was brought in for processing. This test run exposed the fact that the smelter was poorly designed and as a result, this project failed.
Notes found indicate that Firstbrook Bros. Box factory was established in 1919 using one of the buildings from this failed operation. - Inscriptions
- The inscription at the top of the photo reads: "The Smelter, Thessalon, Ontario."
